Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, El Alto, Bolivia.

This 7 meter statue of El Che is situated in the Bolivian city of El Alto, approximately 12 kilometres from better-known La Paz. Sculptor Felix Duran created this powerful political image solely with scrap metal, principally automobile parts. People in Bolivia are incredibly proud of the Argentinian, partly because of the tourism which the site of his death in Santa Cruz provides, but largely because his legacy represents resistance and power against the U.S.A. Duran’s sculpture has Che standing on an eagle, representative of America, conveying a forceful message of contemporary sentiment in South America.
